Available Puppies
Allow me to provide you with an overview of our practices at Doodle Doxie.
We are committed to establishing a personal connection with you. Your convenience is our priority, and we are more than willing to schedule calls or FaceTime sessions at a time that suits both parties. It is important to us that you have the opportunity to become familiar with our breeding program and what it has to offer. Our goal is to assist you in finding the perfect puppy. If we do not currently have a suitable match, we may have upcoming litters to consider.
Our puppies are raised within our home environment. Typically, we allow potential buyers to adopt a puppy around 8 to 9 weeks of age. Once you have selected a puppy, we maintain regular contact, providing weekly updates, including photos and videos. Our aim is to ensure that you can witness your puppy's growth and development just as we do.
At 3 weeks of age, the puppies are introduced to solid food. We initiate the process of socialization by having them spend time with our other dachshunds after separating them from their mother for short periods. Our three younger females are particularly fond of engaging with the puppies.
Puppy school begins at 3 weeks, and our children play a vital role in socializing the puppies. They are brought into the living room, where toys and background noise are present, acclimating them to different stimuli. Our children handle, interact, and provide affection to the puppies, ensuring they are well-adjusted and socially prepared for their forever homes. We introduce them to fake turf grass at an early stage to encourage the idea of outdoor potty training. This practice has received positive feedback from many buyers.
Crate training at night is another aspect of our approach. While an adjustment period is expected when they transition to their new homes, many puppies find comfort in sleeping within a kennel, which we introduce.
By 6 weeks of age, the puppies receive plenty of one-on-one attention, with an abundance of cuddles in our laps. When they reach 8 weeks of age and are ready to join their forever families, they are fully weaned, well-socialized, and accustomed to the joys of companionship and care.
There are currently no available puppies. Please reach out about joining a waitlist in 2026.
